Positioning manifesto

Public auctions and the professionals who know them. On a single platform. Independent.

addicta connects the official auctions of the Ministry of Justice with a directory of independent professionals, verified and reviewed after every engagement. You choose — nobody chooses for you.

The tension

The limit is not the professional. It’s the model.

Today in Italy, if you want to buy a property, a vehicle or a business at auction, the most common model is just one: you rely on a single exclusive intermediary — a firm, a specialised agency, a professional. They are often competent people, and a good relationship of trust has real value. The point is not the quality of whoever assists you: it is everything that is missing around that choice.

In a closed model you see auctions from a single point of view — the ones that particular professional knows or suggests to you — and you work with just one person, who usually reached you by word of mouth, with no easy way to compare them with others or check their track record. You depend on a single judgement, with no second opinion and no public reputation to check before deciding.

It is not a question of the honesty of those who do this job: it is that the model, as it is built, makes quality neither visible nor comparable. When instead all auctions are in plain sight and every professional brings real reviews, tied to engagements actually completed, the choice goes back to the buyer — and for the professional the best way to work becomes, simply, working well.

The right moment

Why addicta exists today and not five years ago.

Italian court auctions have worked for decades, but until recently the foundations for building a serious platform on top of them were missing. Since 2018 the Ministry of Justice’s Public Sales Portal has been mandatory for all proceedings: for the first time the data of every Italian auction exists in a single place, complete and structured. Covid then accelerated the transition: today the vast majority of property foreclosures are conducted online.

This also changes who buys. No longer just experienced investors with their trusted adviser, but more and more families and private individuals who see auctions as a way to buy their first home. People who need simple access to information, who want to compare professionals and not depend on a single intermediary.

Five years ago, addicta would not have been possible. Three years ago, it would not have been necessary. Today the data exist, the public is ready, and the system allows it.

The structural answer

How addicta changes the rules.

Three simple principles, built into the product’s architecture, not into a marketing promise: see everything, compare, choose — without anyone deciding for you.

Independent data source

The auction data comes directly from the official portal of the Ministry of Justice. We don’t select it, no adviser selects it, no agency selects it: all of it, exactly as published by the courts. What you see is what is officially for sale.

Updated several times a day from the official portal. For every auction you can see the court and the case number, so you can check directly at the source.

Aligned incentives

Professionals on addicta earn by building real reviews from completed engagements, not by pushing you into just any deal. Their incentive is to tell you the truth, even when the truth is “don’t buy this one”. Here, saying “no” to a risky deal is behaviour the system rewards.

Reviews verified only after an engagement is completed. No professional can pay to have them removed.

Free choice

You see all the qualified professionals in your area, read real reviews and contact whoever you want. Nobody is “assigned” to you, nobody calls you without you asking. Nobody pays to be shown first unless they have the reviews to back it up.

An open platform: any qualified professional can sign up. The ranking is based on criteria you can read.

A confronto

Traditional model vs marketplace model.

Seven structural differences — not opinions, not marketing claims. They are how the two models are built from the inside.

The missing piece

What addicta does that nobody else does in the same way.

The Italian court auction market has several kinds of players. There are the large online sale operators, authorised by the Ministry, who publish the listings and run the auctions online: they are the system’s infrastructure. There are consultancy firms, some of them very good, that offer direct assistance to those who want to take part: the classic model, a trusted person. And there are directories of auction professionals, where you can look for someone to help you.

addicta is the first Italian platform built to bring all these pieces together, in a structured way:

  1. All auctions published by the courts Always up to date, browsable like a modern property website. Filters, map, alerts: all the tools you expect.
  2. All qualified auction professionals Reviewed after every completed engagement, not self-promoted. Delegated lawyers, court-appointed experts (CTU), surveyors, estate agents, brokers. Registration open to anyone qualified.
  3. Every auction linked to the professionals who cover it Automatic matching by province and asset category. Open an auction and instantly see who can help you with that specific proceeding.

All of Italy: every province, from big cities to small courts. Every type of asset, from real estate to vehicles to businesses. It is not infrastructure for the courts, not a firm, not a list. It is a platform. Independent.

We don’t replace a professional’s experience. We make it accessible and comparable.

Commitment

Our rules, written clearly.

What addicta will never do, regardless of who pays.

How does addicta make money?

In this early phase addicta is free for everyone: both for private individuals looking for auctions and for professionals who want to be visible. The long-term business model will be defined later and announced well in advance. For buyers, use will always remain free: that is an explicit promise.

Are the professionals on addicta verified?

Yes. We verify the VAT number and professional register membership (lawyers, court-appointed experts, surveyors) and collect reviews after every completed engagement. Signing up is not enough: you need a complete profile and a reputation built on real, successful engagements.

Can I leave reviews of professionals?

Yes, only after completing an engagement. Reviews are tied to the specific engagement: no anonymous reviews, no way to rate a professional without having actually contacted them. The professional cannot remove negative reviews.

Where does the auction data come from?

Directly from the official portal of the Ministry of Justice (called Portale Vendite Pubbliche, PVP), where every Italian court publishes the auctions it manages. We update the data several times a day. For every auction you can see the competent court and the case number, so you can always check the auction directly on the official portal.

What sets us apart from a specialised adviser?

An adviser works with you exclusively, knows your situation and guides you step by step: for complex or high-value deals it may be the right choice. addicta is the model for those who want to compare several professionals, see prices and reviews, and keep the choice in their own hands. They are not hostile alternatives: they are models for different needs.

How are you different from the sites that already list auction advisers?

The directories of auction advisers that exist in Italy today are catalogues of firms that have chosen to form a consortium: useful for finding contacts, but in practice closed networks — you only see who is inside the consortium. addicta is an open platform: any qualified professional can sign up, reviews are tied to real engagements completed on the platform, and every auction is linked to the professionals who cover it. It is not a directory: it is a system.

Can I use addicta just to search for auctions, without contacting professionals?

Yes. Searching for auctions is completely free. Professionals are an optional tool, not a mandatory step.

What happens if an auction I find on addicta goes wrong?

addicta is a marketplace for information and contacts, not a transaction agent: the award happens through the court, following the official procedure. Court auctions do carry risks, and we discuss them openly in our guides. The added value of a qualified professional lies precisely in reducing them.

I am a professional. Why should I sign up?

Because on an independent platform your quality becomes visible and rewarded. You don’t compete on who pays the most, but on who has the best reviews and the strongest portfolio. If you are good, the model structurally works in your favour. Start with 90 free days (Founding programme).

Will addicta still be around in five years?

The independent marketplace model has won in every sector where it has been applied seriously: travel, real estate, restaurants, general professional services. We see no reason why Italian court auctions should be an exception. We are building a platform, not a trendy app.

Honesty

Who addicta is not the right choice for.

addicta is not the right choice for everyone.

If you are looking for an exclusive trusted adviser to assist you on a single complex, high-value deal — perhaps the auction of a business or of a significant property portfolio — a dedicated specialist firm is probably still the best choice. A one-to-one relationship, built over time, has value.

addicta is designed for people who want access, comparison and freedom of choice at scale. For those who don’t yet have a trusted adviser, for those who want to hear several opinions before deciding, for those who live in a province where local specialists are scarce, for those considering a court auction for the first time.

We don’t want to replace the relationship with a trusted adviser. We want to open up the choice to those who don’t have one yet.
